Free Workshops for Small Business
PELHAM Company Offers Small Business Help in Tough Economic Times
Layoffs, shut-downs, closed businesses and other grim financial news have been in the
headlines for many months. One local company, BDG Entrepreneurial Services is reaching out
to help the small business community. BDG, through its Start-Up Alabama program provides
workshops and one-on-one consulting for start-ups and existing small businesses.
Start-Up Alabama is now offering FREE workshops to help those starting their own business and
workshops for those with an existing business that needs to get “back on track”.
The Launch Your New Business workshop will be held on Saturday August 1 at 9 AM at BDG,
3469 McDaniel St. in Pelham. This three-hour session will give attendees important information
on how to start a business, how to get small business financing, how to create a success model
and how to market.
Start-Up Alabama is also offering workshops for existing business owners that need to improve
business performance. Smart Advice for Tough Economic Times is designed to give existing
business owners 25 proven strategies for getting their business back on track. This three-hour
session will be held on Friday, July 31st at 2 PM.
In addition to these workshops, Start-Up Alabama provides one-on-one consulting. This
includes reviewing their business concept, outlining a business plan, developing strategies for

According to BDG owner Doug Howard, “We know in these tough economic times, many will
